Miley Cyrus' home swarmed by cops after a 'swatting' prank call

Cops, fire and rescue squads raced to Miley Cyrus' San Fernando Valley home Wednesday night after receiving a report about a possible robbery or home invasion.

The LAPD received a 911 call to report the alleged crime-in-progress and that shots had been fired at Cyrus' home.

Cops responded immediately, formed a perimeter around the property and slowly approached the house only to find that the house was quiet, no one was home, and there was no sign of a crime.

In the end, cops determined that the call seems to be a prank called "swatting," in which a caller tries to trick emergency responders into dispatching law enforcemtn to a home by making up a serious crime.

Accordingly, "If the person is found, they will be arrested and prosecuted because it was a false call, a false allegation."
