“Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” is the most wanted film worldwide, taking $75.5 million across 28 countries, as well as winning the top spots in the North American box office charts over the weekend.
The animated film debuted at No. 1 this week in several countries. The biggest tickets sales were in Russia ($16.4 million), Brazil ($11 million) and China ($10.4 million).
In the US, the animated “Madagascar 3″, the third installment from the wildly popular franchise starring Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett about New York zoo animals trying to return home to New York City, opened with a bigger-than-expected $60.4 million debut.
Meanwhile, the sci-fi movie Promentheus also had a huge debut, with $50 million ticket sales in the US, placing at the second spot.Labels: Movies
