Dolphy passes away at 83

Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr, more popularly known as the Comedy King Dolphy, passed away at the Makati Medical Center, 15 days before his 84th birthday.





Dolphy passed away around 8:34 p.m. on tuesday, July 10, after a bout with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). On June 16, 2012, Dolphy was admitted at the Makati Medical Center after complaining of shortness of breath. He was diagnosed with COPD and was showing signs of recovery eight days later. He was hospitalized again because of recurring pneumonia.


Dolphy was widely regarded as the Philippines’ “King of Comedy” for his comedy talent embodied by his almost seven decades of works on stage, radio, television and movies.
