Michael Phelps barely qualified to land a spot in 400 IM final

On Saturday morning, July 28, Michael Phelps barely qualified for his first final in the 2012 Olympic Game.

The superstar in the Beijing Olympics qualified for the eighth and final spot in tonight’s final of the 400 individual medley.
He got the final spot in the race with a record 4:13.33 seconds, barely beating Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh, who finished in 4:13.40--a .07 difference.

Ryan Lochte, one of the US gold medal favorite, finished third in the preliminary, with a record time 4:12.35. Even though Ryan placed third overall, he knows not to count Michael out just yet!
