The hit musical TV series Glee returns to Fox with its fourth season premiere on September 13, 2012. Glee's season 4 pilot episode "The New Rachel" will show you what's going on for most of the characters, both in New York and back at McKinley High.
According to Fox, thirteen central characters, eleven of whom are retaining that status from the third season. These are glee club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), glee club members Tina Cohen-Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz), Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale), Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss), and Brittany Pierce (Heather Morris). Graduates Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley), Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera), and Noah “Puck” Puckerman (Mark Salling) are returning in Glee Season 4. Recurring character from previous season Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet), a glee club member, has been promoted to the main cast in the fourth season, as well as Burt Hummel (Mike O’Malley), Kurt’s father who had been the central character in the second season.
Mike Chang (Harry Shum, Jr.), Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron), guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) and graduate Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) will be appearing less frequently in Glee Season 4.
For this season, two actresses will have multi-episode guest-starring arcs as part of the New York sequences. These are Sarah Jessica Parker as Isabelle Klempt, and Kate Hudson as Cassandra July. Parker's character will be a mentor to Kurt, while Hudson's character will be Rachel's dance teacher at NYADA.
